2012 Magnum 8.1 IQ MAX with IQ MAX 12 binding
New for 2012, the 8.1 has the addition of an early-rise tip, but otherwise is unchanged. One of the strongest "frontside" all-mountain skis available, the 8.1 is a very good ski on anything from the hardest snow, to more forgiving soft-snow conditions. It also rips on groomers, excels in bumps, and is a great crud-buster as well. The early rise tip enhances the crud performance of this ski; otherwise, it is the same powerful, lovely ski, built for skiers. This is a great choice for the "Western" carver, as well as an east-coast every day ski for everything from Bulletproof ice and bumps, to softer snow in the trees. It is one of the best in it's class; equivalent to the RTM 84 from Volkl, although a bit more powerful on hard snow.
